JAMAICA'S AIRPORTS READY FOR INCREASED TRAFFIC THROUGH BUSY WINTER SEASON

JAMAICA'S AIRPORTS READY FOR INCREASED TRAFFIC
THROUGH BUSY WINTER SEASON
Prime Minister Golding to Open Ian Fleming International Airport on January 12

KINGSTON, JAMAICA – January 4, 2011 – With the busy 2010/11 winter tourist season now underway, Jamaica’s international airports have added improved and enhanced features to support the anticipated increase in visitor arrivals. On January 12, Prime Minister Bruce Golding will open the new Ian Fleming International Airport, geared primarily to accommodating arrivals by private jet.

At the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, NMIA Airports Limited and its parent company, Airports Authority of Jamaica, have completed phase 1A of their three-part expansion project. During this phase, a new three-level departures concourse was constructed, comprising 66 check-in positions; a new baggage system implemented; the car park expanded; four additional passenger bridges were installed, bringing the total to eight and the arrivals area renovated, including the customs and immigration halls.

Phase 1B is currently underway, scheduled for completion in 2012. This phase will include further upgrading of existing buildings, installation of new baggage-handling facilities, expansion of aircraft parking stands, and an extension of the cargo and maintenance taxiway.  During this phase, work will continue as part of the enhancement of the transportation hall and its Kingston Pineapple Lounge. Upon completion, this will expedite the flow of visitors and groups for transfer to the island’s resort areas.

The airport has completed the installation of 10 Common Use Self Service (CUSS) machines and expanded retail shopping in the arrivals (waiting) area to facilitate “meeters & greeters” and wider airport users. NMIA recently invited tenders for Arrivals Duty Free, following the passage of appropriate legislation.

In the second quarter of 2011, expansion of the departures executive lounge will be implemented to include a pay-per-use model similar to that of the Admirals Club, but with a Jamaican theme.

In the resort capital, MBJ Airports Limited, operators of the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, has completed the installation of an additional 20 CUSS machines bringing the total number to 40 in the check-in terminal.  The airport has also completed the reconfiguration of the pre-boarding screening area to facilitate access for both staff and passengers.

MBJ has also opened a tender process in which several concessions are available, including Foreign Exchange, Duty Free and Specialty Retail stores. The recent approval of Arrivals Duty Free opens up more options to the traveling public, sharpening Jamaica’s edge as a competitive world tourism destination.

Prime Minister Golding Opens Jamaica’s Third International Airport

On Wednesday, January 12, Prime Minister Bruce Golding will open the island`s third international airport, the Ian Fleming Airport, located on Jamaica’s north coast,  approximately five miles outside the resort town of Ocho Rios.  The airport is named after Fleming, the creator of the James Bond books, who had a home in Oracabessa, where he wrote many of the novels. The upgraded $300 million airport will cater primarily to private jets, and will feature a passenger lounge, pilot briefing room, and customs and immigration points.

N-Resort

Breezes are Blowing Guests to N-Resort
The Newest NUDE Resort in Jamaica
No Sandals Needed

I just love it when we have first hand information
from people who have just returned from a resort.
Here is a first hand report on the NEW N-Resort - it is causing quit a stir ....
aj

"Here's a few pictures of N resort.  I'm working on a report, and will have more photos.  Thought you'd like "AJ's Piano Bar and Movie Room".  Freddy took great pride in showing me this. The bedroom one shows the use of the netting to accent the bed.  We had no problem with bugs, but it could be used if one desired to turn off the A.C and open the windows. The rooms are nice knotty pine.  I thought it was warm and person-friendly, not rustic.  There has to be a better word. The waterslide is the big red thing in front of the pool bar."

"I was impressed with the resort - nice 3 star.  Still some work to be done.  Weather was lousy - cold but started warming up  late Sat and Sunday."
*******   Food was outstanding  *******

N-Resort is not a Hedonism it's Paradise ; )

 888 825 2779

At first I was not quite sure what we got into with the resort N.  They are still finishing up work on getting the resort fully open.  When I look back on the week the only negative that I would have is that there was only 6 guests (including us) the first 3 days and then only 4 of us the last 4 days.  However, in a way this turned to be a positive because we had the entire resort to ourselves which made for a very relaxing week.  The resort itself is not a Braco and has a few years on it but was very clean and quite cozy.  Their beach is nice and walking down the beach in either direction off of their property you can walk for miles and is quite stunning.

The entire staff from the top to the bottom was exceptional.  From the drivers they have on staff to the Chef's and management I can not say enough good things about.  The food was outstanding and service was beyond expectations.  But then again the staff out numbered the guests 3 to 1.

We were nude most of the time when outdoors and everybody covered up when dining and at night everybody dressed casual sexy nice.

I would diffently recommend this resort for the couple that is looking for a different nude venue that is smaller and laid back.  We will be back.
